Why I Built Ponoki
Life can get overwhelming at times. When the stress of personal life started taking a toll on my daily routine, I turned to therapy for support. My therapist taught me clinical mindfulness techniques, especially 4-7-8 breathing, to help regulate my emotions and calm my nervous system.
While the science worked, the practice itself didn't. Sitting in silence with a rigid, ticking countdown felt cold, clinical, and honestly boring. When you are already struggling with anxiety, trying to hold your breath to a strict timer can feel like just another burdensome chore on your to-do list that you might fail at.
That is why I created Ponoki. I realized that what anxious minds really need is not a rigid meditation schedule. We need a warm, loving companion to come back to whenever we feel overwhelmed. By turning breathwork and cognitive reframing into gentle, interactive play with a huggable character, Ponoki helps you melt stress naturally, without judgment or pressure.
